Claire Hatcher, RSLP

Originally from the UK, Claire has practiced in speech-language pathology since 1989 and amassed a wealth of experience supporting the needs of preschool and school-age children. She holds counselling certification and a Masters in Special Education and has a special interest in facilitating the school experience for older children and teens: be it tackling specific speech, language, fluency and literacy difficulties, developing self-awareness, self-esteem and self-advocacy, or exploring life-hacks for attention, memory and organizational challenges.  Claire treats her clients and families with such respect and understanding while working to better understand a child’s needs and goals.  Claire is the author of Making Collaborative Practice Work; A model for teachers and SLTs (J&R Press, 2011) and in her spare time is usually found typing away at her latest novel. She lives in Oak Bay, with her husband, their teenage son and a Korean rescue dog.
