Sydney Torok, RSLP
MEET SYDNEY
Sydney grew up in Chilliwack, BC before moving to the island to complete her bachelor’s degree in linguistics at the University of Victoria. She then went on to study at the University of Alberta where she completed her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology.
Sydney has gained valuable experience working with children with diverse communication profiles in both the Sooke School District and Chilliwack School District. She also has experience in an adult outpatient clinic in Edmonton.
Sydney is passionate about helping individuals of all ages with their speech and language goals. She approaches her work with a client-centered perspective and strives to create an environment where the client feels comfortable, safe, and heard while working on goals that will have a big impact on their day-to-day life.
Outside of work you can find Sydney swimming, reading, having a beach day, or trying new recipes.
Sydney’s additional training and certifications include:
- SPEAK OUT! Provider certification for treating adults with Parkinson’s Disease
- Connecting language intervention and the classroom
- Innovative interventions: Improving generalization in school-age children using experiential learning principles
